Hydrogen Water Generators

Before a hydrogen water generator joins the Codex, I ask for the dissolved hydrogen figure in PPB, the membrane specification, and the full list of water-contact materials.

Hydrogen water generators use SPE/PEM electrolysis technology to infuse water with dissolved molecular hydrogen at measurable concentrations. What separates considered options from ordinary ones is the quality of the membrane, the consistency of PPB output, and the materials that contact your water each time.

QUESTIONS WORTH ASKING

PPB stands for parts per billion and measures the concentration of dissolved molecular hydrogen in the water. Higher PPB is generally preferable, though consistent output across uses matters as much as the peak figure. Every generator in this collection is rated to a minimum concentration I verified before it joined the Codex, and the figure is listed on each product page.

SPE (Solid Polymer Electrolyte) and PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) refer to the electrolysis method used to separate and infuse hydrogen into water without introducing ozone or chlorine as byproducts. It is the method most associated with clean, stable hydrogen output. Not all electrolysis methods produce the same result, and when a generator doesn't specify its membrane technology, that's worth noting before you buy.

The generators in this collection use food-grade materials throughout the water-contact components. For portable bottles, the construction material matters most, and glass is the cleaner choice over plastic regardless of grade. Every unit in the Codex has been evaluated on this point before it was listed, and the specific materials are detailed on each product page.

All hydrogen water generators in the Codex are covered by the manufacturer's return and warranty terms, which vary by product and are listed on each individual product page. If you have a question about a specific unit or need help initiating a return, contact me directly and I will step in on your behalf.

Portable bottle generators infuse hydrogen directly into the water inside the bottle, making them practical for travel or desk use. Countertop and under-sink units connect to your existing water supply and produce larger volumes continuously. The right choice depends on how and where you want to use it, and both formats are represented in this collection with the specifications listed on each product page.

Portable bottle generators require no installation, they charge via USB and are ready to use out of the box. Countertop units sit on your bench and connect to a power source, also with no installation required. Under-sink units require a connection to your water line and are best installed by a plumber. The setup requirements for every unit in this collection are detailed on the individual product page before you buy.

ABOUT  HYDROGEN WATER GENERATORS

Hydrogen water generators use electrolysis to infuse ordinary water with dissolved molecular hydrogen at concentrations measured in parts per billion. The category divides broadly into portable bottles designed for daily use and desktop or pitcher-format units intended for household use.

Key specifications worth examining before you buy: PPB output, the electrolysis method, the materials in contact with your water, battery capacity for portable units, and whether the generator produces hydrogen only or introduces unwanted byproducts alongside it.

SPE and PEM membrane technology is the benchmark. It produces a cleaner output than older electrolysis methods and is consistently found in more carefully engineered units. Capacity relative to your daily use and whether the form factor suits how you actually drink water are the two practical questions worth settling before you choose.
